I’m in the mood for adulation
Maria Callas: Book me a table at a café where the waiters know who I am. Referenced in Close-Up: Why do We Need the Venice Film Festival?
If it were not for Angelina Jolie! To be fair, she was excellent in the acting bits
(2024). I was just not sold on the singing parts. The movie, however, was an excellent closing chapter to a much less degnified life of Maria Callas.
It does, however, touch on many delicate moments that defined her career
She was a wonderful soul whom her talent had a great deal of appreciation and agony in equal measures. It features the last 7 days of her life and uses flashbacks to review her journey. In doing so, it gets you so consumed you can no longer differentiate between her delusions and actual memories.
