Before Twilight, Nikki had already been a successful actress and producer with the movie Thirteen, a script she wrote about her own teenage years. Edward’s wealth comes from his and Alice Cullen’s abilities to predict stock market trends. Though we can infer that Bella’s scent caused Edward to act strangely towards her the first time they met, we learn the power it has over him and how painfully it affects him in “Midnight Sun.” When Jasper first appears on screen, he noticeably looks a little dazed. It’s almost comical how out of sync he looks with the rest of the vampires, but that’s on purpose. Instead, it’s how Edward refers to Bella in “Midnight Sun” when everyone starts making a fuss over her. In “Eclipse,” he believes Bella attending college with humans her age can convince her not to be a vampire. He even encourages Bella to go to college by filling out applications for her.
Rosalie witnessed how loving Vera’s marriage was, and she couldn’t help but compare it to her relationship with Royce. It stirred something in her, and she wanted nothing more in that moment than to become a mother herself. The “Twilight” saga repeatedly emphasizes the fact that vampires have superhuman senses, which allow them to follow scent trails better than any bloodhound. Additionally, “Eclipse” tells viewers that newborn vampires are stronger than regular vampires, thanks to the human blood lingering in their bodies. If so, there’s no logical reason why Riley couldn’t smell the other, older vampires standing nearby.
During their both on and off screen romance, they were the “it couple.” Fans were so obsessed with everything Stewart and Pattinson did, that they even came up with the ship name “Robsten” for the duo. And despite their split, some diehard fans still have entire accounts dedicated to their erstwhile romance. Later, while Edward is visiting Jacob, he admits that he is in love with him, and forcefully kisses him, saying that he must either have him as his boyfriend or not at all. Edward is furious with Jacob for this, and nearly ends their friendship. Bella’s positive reception at her new school in Forks, particularly her popularity with male characters, was modelled after Meyer’s real life move from high school to college. Meyer has said that there are similarities between Bella and the title character of Charlotte Brontë’s Jane Eyre, a novel which she has cited as an influence on the Twilight series. In Twilight, 17-year-old Bella moves to her father’s home in Forks, Washington, meets the mysterious Cullen family, and falls in love with seemingly teenage Edward Cullen. Jacob refuses to take no for an answer, despite it being obvious to everyone in Forks that Bella only has eyes for Edward. Moreover, Jacob and Bella kiss in “Eclipse” entirely due to Jacob’s manipulation. After he storms off upon discovering Bella and Edward’s engagement, Bella tries to calm him down, as she’s scared of him rushing into the fight against the violent newborns. Jacob plays on this and demands Bella give him a reason to stay safe. She tells him how much he means to her, but he tells her that’s “not enough.” So she kisses him. In New Moon, he phases into a wolf for the first time and this is the start of his transformation as a shape-shifter werewolf.
